My Burt's Bees face cream has mold growing on it!?
I just bought this cream 2 months ago and stored it in my bathroom. Lately it has started to change its smell...and I knew that it was spoiling. Then a few days ago it turned greyish and a white cottony mold was growing from it. So I tossed it ofcourse. But I was pissed off that I paid so much money for that face cream and now it went rotten. No where on the packaging does it say that it must be stored in the fridge. Has this ever happened to any of your natural skin care products? If so, how do you make it last longer without spoiling? Is keeping it in the fridge (and having to run back and forth to use it in the morning) well worth it?My Burt's Bees face cream has mold growing on it!?
Ah yes, natural face creams growing moldy, doing what all things ';natural'; are supposed to do.
1. NEVER put your fingers in a pot of cream.
2. ALWAYS use a clean spatula to remove the product from the jar to avoid contaminating the product.
3. Store in a cool place and expect to toss it after about 3 months, especially if there are no preservatives in the product.
While I am not familiar with Burt's Bees products, I do know that it is better to dispense products from a tube or a pump. There is less chance of contamination and oxidation and you are more careful in dispensing - not wanting to waste any. It is far too easy to put back into a jar or pot the excess you may have scooped up.My Burt's Bees face cream has mold growing on it!?

Fish it out of the garbage and write them or google them and write them an email about your problem. They will send you a new one. Ask them about storage, may just be the humidity and summer depending on where you live.

Burts Bees has wonderful products I have used their facial products for years. Why would you need a pre-shampoo treatment ? If you really want to just try their stuff only buy a travel kit. You can get them off their web and sometimes on Ebay. I have used their hair products and I found them to be pretty heavy %26amp; oily ( avocado pure oil, butter pure oil, ). Which would be great for thick course dry hair. If you need a scalp treatment try Tea Tree by Paul Mitchell It is great and minty.

just pull as hard as you can. I cant really help you because im not there to open it for you or to see why it doesnt open but i dont know, put it under boiling hot water and then try to open it using a rubber glove. That might work!

Try using something with grip. Something with a rough surface may help. Try running it under warm water, drying it thoroughly then using a towel, or rubber gloves.

I tried going to burts bees cuz I like natural stuff, but their cleansers and moisturizers were too thick for me. Now I use Formula 2 by mary kay (go to their website to find a consultant in your area, I don't think they offer formula 2 online) and I spray burts bees complexion mist in a lighter moisturizer. I love it. Happy Primping!

I found that Burts Bees was heavy and greasy residue, I did find an amazing cosmetic line called BEE-LUSCIOUS you can look at in on www.beeroyalproducts.com I am using the Royal Gelee masque, the vital skin line and the hydrating creme concentrate , my skin has never looked better or felt better ... I am soft, and supple .. you may want to read about it.. I too break out easily and never did with these products.Burt's Bees any info?
I have used the burn/scar cream for my burns (i am a chef). It was given to my by a co-worker after oil splattered on my face leaving me with a dime sized burn on my cheek. It worked for my face, leaving almost no trace of the burn.
They are WONDERFUL!! I really love the skin care line...I use the cleanser(either lemon poppy seed or orange) with the scrub and then the toner. Also, their make-up is wonderful, as well!
I have only tried their lip balm and I love it.
I dont know if Burts bees products are quality for problem skin, but I do know that it is excellent for dry skin! Sorry if that doesnt help.
Their original (non-color) chapstick is fantastic it makes my lips feel refreshed and voluptuous! I've also tried their hand lotions which seem to work excellently on my somewhat dry skin. I also used their spot treatment acne stick once, i didn't see much of a difference in my skin but it did smell great!

The face creams are not so great! Their lip glosses are the best. If you have problem skin and large pores you could try something like DHC velvet skin coat, it minimizes pores, well, if you use make up it makes it go on smoother and your pores look smaller if not invisible. Their Cleansing oil helps a lot too, I recently tried it and it's amazing, makeup comes off easily and it cleared up my face and the redness I had.
i dont really like their products. especially the face wash, i used it a couple times and it always leaves behind this greasy residue behind. i didnt like their shampoo either and i their carrot stuff and it smells awful...not my taste. but i do like their chapsticks

how old are you? it would've helped if you mentioned your age so that we could help you find the procuct that suits your skin. burts bees lip line is good and its what i have tried so far. i think you should not take risks with skincare products because it can seriously damage your skin. try something gentle maybe from nivea or clinique. l'oreal also has a pore minimizing set. it is usally cleanse tone and moisturize. look for products that do that in a 1-2-3 step way. also find a moisturizer that has spf so that your skin is protected from the sun and is being moisturized at the same time. the sun can really damage your skin by drying it out, and because its dry its easily prone to develop wrinkles. aside from noticeable effects the lower layers of your skin can also change pigment and get damaged...good luck...

pads on and it was worked like a charm! But i also you a Powder from Euphoria and it goes on at night and i sleep with it , it is also very natural like the Burt Bees products.

I've used their orange face cleanser, their lip balms, lip tints, citrus scrub, and carrot face cream. I have extremely dry, sensitive skin.
Cleaner: made my skin feel nice, but didn't remove all makeup if I just rinsed. Had to use washcloth. I now use Aubrey brand rose cleanser, which is very gentle and effective. About the same price, too.
Scrub: nice smelling, softening. Very large grains, but otherwise good.
Lip balms: I don't like them, personally. They're nice for chapped lips at first, but lips quickly dry out after. Same with lip tints.
Carrot face cream: rather strongly scented, but was very hydrating and lasted a long time. The oils in it are very good for dry/sensitive skin.
They are no better or worse than most products, but at least they smell good, feel good, are made from mostly natural ingredients and aren't tested on animals.

They are no better or worse than most products, but at least they smell good, feel good, are made from mostly natural ingredients and aren't tested on animals.

I even use the baby bee line of products..the baby oil and lotion make your skin super soft. if i were you i would go to there website burtsbees.com and you can read all the customers testimonials and see how may people love it. you can also get a good overview on what kind of products they sell. it doesnt get any better than all natural!

everything made by them is absolutly amazing. especially their beeswax lip balm. just don't try the one made with honey, it smells funny and doen't work very well...
I used an orange face scrub as a mask and it was wonderful. I have used the chapstick also. The foot cream and the foot spray is absolutely awsome, so refreshing. I have never tried the make-up products though. Kinda curious about those myself.

burts bees makes AWFUL washes and lotions (they make you break out even more- i know this because i have sensitive skin too and i'm 'allergic' to most foundation), but the spot treatments they make are so incredibly good.
their blemish stick is the only acne product i use now, and after using it religiously (2x a day on all my spots and blemishes) for a few weeks i have ridiculously clear, perfect skin. you have to be careful with it though- if you roll it on all over your face, it'll sting like crazy and you'll never want to use it again. just spot-treat with it, and in time everything will smooth out and look beautiful. and you notice results in a few hours- pimples, etc. will DISAPPEAR if you use it a few times in a day.
essentially that's the only recommendation of burts bees i can make. the lip balm and blemish stick are both AMAZING. but the washes and lotions they make will definitely only make your skin worse. good luck!Do Burt's Bees skincare products help acne???????????

Personally I would recommend using pro active if it is really a terrible breakout, but if you cannot afford that, astringent works well to help clear up acne. Try finding an ';on the spot acne treatment.'; Those work very well on my skin and I hope they'll work for you too! Hope your skin clears up. Good luck.

I have never tried but heard about it,the coldness is probably from the cooling effect which that means it is working to protect and moisturize your lips. i like the regular stuff i use chap stick the one in the beige tube it is called all natural which it is great it taste kinda good to it has al lot of moisturizers and has a good smell it goes on smooth and silky not gunky, also try Blistex the have a new called moisture splash this is if you want a moisturizer with a little bi t of shine it feels cool going on but does not stay that way it feels cool at first because it has a metal ball that is the applicator Hope this helps.

I heard that it was good so I bought it (the super shiny shampoo) and used some last night. well it depends...............
PERSONALLY, i think that carmex works a lot a lot better on healing your lips, however many people don't like it because of its smell or cause it burns ( just a little bit, not badly or anything)..............
on the smell of carmex...... most people don't like the original smell, but now it comes in mint, cherry (not gross cherry medicine cherry, but good cherry), and i think raspberry... so that also makes a difference
HOWEVER, i think Burt's bee works well and i really like the scent and the feeling when you put it on..... it tingles....

I prefer Burt's Bees, even though the smell of Carmex sets off some fond childhood memories.
I prefer BB because the balm generally lasts longer when applied and the ingredients are more natural. And I have a thing for the smell of peppermint, though that's more of a personal thing.
But if you want something to shield your lips vs. moisturising them I would go with Carmex. Carmex seriously feels almost like a shield when I have it on.
Burts bees isn't what it used to be.
They sold the company to Chorox a while ago and they plan to mass market it and cheapened the formula. Burts bees also gets too sticky at times and it doesn't work as well as Carmex.The only good thing about Carmex is the menthol mint affect but its also too gooey and is packed with chemicals. I personally can't use any of them because they contain lanolin (im allergic).

well it depends...............
PERSONALLY, i think that carmex works a lot a lot better on healing your lips, however many people don't like it because of its smell or cause it burns ( just a little bit, not badly or anything)..............
on the smell of carmex...... most people don't like the original smell, but now it comes in mint, cherry (not gross cherry medicine cherry, but good cherry), and i think raspberry... so that also makes a difference
HOWEVER, i think Burt's bee works well and i really like the scent and the feeling when you put it on..... it tingles....
it depends on what you want in chap stick
I would say Burt's bees just cause i like the texture in a stick better than the balm carmex came in, BUT carmex now comes in a stick so like that too

I prefer Burt's Bees, even though the smell of Carmex sets off some fond childhood memories.
I prefer BB because the balm generally lasts longer when applied and the ingredients are more natural. And I have a thing for the smell of peppermint, though that's more of a personal thing.
But if you want something to shield your lips vs. moisturising them I would go with Carmex. Carmex seriously feels almost like a shield when I have it on.
Burts bees isn't what it used to be.
They sold the company to Chorox a while ago and they plan to mass market it and cheapened the formula. Burts bees also gets too sticky at times and it doesn't work as well as Carmex.The only good thing about Carmex is the menthol mint affect but its also too gooey and is packed with chemicals. I personally can't use any of them because they contain lanolin (im allergic).

Try the Lypsyl lipbalm,i think its better than burts bees and it uses honey( a natural and effective moisturizer).

You could also use Vaseline lipbalm it works wonders.

i used to have REALLY bad lips, its was not only dry and cracked, the skin was peeling of a LOT, it was so gross, i tried so many different products, none of them worked. then i bought Burts Bees and now, my lips are so much healthier, all the peelings are gone, i apply every night right before i go to bed and its working GREAT for me. i would definalty recommend it

I am in love with Burt's Bees lip care. I usually use the Lip Shimmers when I want a bit of color, and the Honey Lip Balm when I don't. HOWEVER, with most medicated lip care products; you have to continue to use to maintain the softness and smoothness. If you use irregularly you will notice more dryness when you don't use. The process will need to be somewhat habitual.
I have noticed that the simple wax balms in the tube (honey is my fav tube) are more waxy - not really good when using a lip stick or gloss because the color will slide right off. BUT the balms that come in the little tub are great right before bed or in the winter before you go out in the cold because they are very moisturizing. If you are a kisser, or kiss on a regular basis you should use the tub balm ( raspberry ) it is great. It smooths and softens the skin almost instantly, very smoochworthy.Has anyone ever tried Burt鈥檚 Bees Lip Care Products?

i love the foot creme. i go barefoot most of the time, so my feet get really rough, i can use the foot creme and within 2 or 3 days my feet are back to normal and super soft. maybe try buying one of the mini packs with several products in it to see if you like them

Nope. It just makes your lips shimmery and it's really uncomfortable and dries out my lips. Use a pink gloss (my favorite is Mirabella but most kinds are cute). Does burt's bees lip shimmer plump lips?

When you look up on the internet most things seem to cause cancer nowadays. If you use it you make contract one kind of cancer if you don't there are probably statistics out there saying that you are more likely to contract another kind of cancer.
What you need to look at here is the key word ';likely'; and be critical of what you read and question the validity of the claim and the conditions it was carried out under. If you can't see how they have come to that conclusion then dismiss it or if you think there may be some truth in it then do further research.
To be honest though. When you consider that Burts Bees Lip balm contains all natural ingredients and then compare it to the amount of chemicals in most make-up and other lip balms... if that causes cancer then most other stuff will kill us the moment we put it on.

i just finished a nutmeg burt's bees lip shimmer and i want another one, but i'm not sure i want the same color. i have dark tan skin and dark lips, too. the nutmeg was alright, but sometimes it looked a little too bright and red, especially if i put more than one coat. i do like the sparkliness, though, which i don't see in like rhubarb and merlot. i'm thinking about coffee, fig, or papaya...what should i get?Which burt's bees lip shimmer should i get? ?

I have purchased the Burt's Bees shaveing kit that comes with the cup, brush, and bar. I was wondering can anyone give me pointers on exactly how to use this and what should it look like when i add hot water and later it up. How thick should the lather be and what do i do for clean up? 1) Wet the brush %26amp; rub the bristles gently against the soap to create a lather like the lather you get when you shower.
2) Brush the lather onto your beard. Work the bristles a little bit against your stubble to make it stand up.

4) Rinse off the brush %26amp; shake well. Allow the brush to air dry on a clean dry cloth.

Well I was wondering if Target would carry their whole beauty products line. If they do, would I be able to find it in the beauty/cosmetics department or would they be by the check out counters? Also do you think they carry specifically the Lip Shimmers in watermelon flavor?

Go to Rite Aid or whatever drug store you frequent. Most of them carry Burt's Bees full line of products. I love the peppermint lip balm, the almond oil hand cream, and the bath oil. Everything works extremely well, smells extremely good, and leaves me in 7th heaven!

I've tried Burts bees but don't like it. It doesn't go on smoothly enough and is an extremely thin coat which leaves no real shine. I really love Bigelow's Rose Salve though. The scent is awesome and the color is a pretty light pinkish, and it comes in a little round tin so you apply it with your fingertip. I use it everyday and my lips are really smooth.

I have never use them.. in our family we have very different skin types, my mom is dry skin my sister is combination and I have very oily skin... we were strugling with this for quite a long time.. we are using arbonne products.. they are very good and for the 3 of us we finally found what we were looking for... the important thing is not to use products with mineral oil or chemicals.... these are very harmful for our skin and avoid fragrances....our skin needs to breath and when we use products containing ';stuff'; that our skin does not absorb so the skin could benefit from the nutrients that the products contain... the mineral oil for example clogs our pores and even though products contain vitamin e well we would not benefit the way we would if it did not contain mineral oils... anyway, check them out, they are really good...What are Burt's Bees?
I USE ARBONNE ALSO AND THERE IS A MARKED DIFFERENCE SINCE THEN TRY THEM AND IF NOT SATISFIED YOU CAN RETURN ITEM WITHOUT A FUSS

I found it super drying. But my boyfriend is using the rest up and his hair looks AMAZING! because he has naturally oilier hair. Where as my hair is super dry to begin with.
So: if you have oily hair, you'll like this product. It will make your hair noticebly shiny.
A cheaper version might be that Pantene Ice Shine stuff. I've used that before, but I think it's a clarifying shampoo..which means it'll strip your hair. So make sure to only use the clarifying shampoo like once a week, and use a regular shampoo the rest of the time.

I still get zits every now and then but I think clearisil is just not working. I'm thinking of getting the Burt's Bee's collection for my face. This includes their toner. I want to take care of my skin and avoid scrubbing too much which may cause wrinkles later on.

regular is great for any lip condition. when your lips are just smooth, no problems the tingle feels nice, chapped/ peeling is smoothed away. so yeah, i suggest the original.

regular is great for any lip condition. when your lips are just smooth, no problems the tingle feels nice, chapped/ peeling is smoothed away. so yeah, i suggest the original.
Hello^_^ I love Burt's Bee Lip Balm!! I have the same problem you do, so I would suggest regular. It makes your lips feel all tingly!! Haha, and it helps a lot.
I dunno if I could live without it.(I'm sure I could, but you know what I mean)
